hilarious because…dismiss the idea that…in the universe…however, the Big Crunch isn’t the only theory for the death of the universe. Very recently it’s been found that the universe is expanding at an accelerating rate, due to dark energy (the finders of this won the 2011 Nobel prize). Another theory is that billions of years in the future, all the stars will go dark and there won’t be enough hydrogen to start any more nuclear fusion, thereby no more new stars. Isaac Asimov discusses this (as well as the whole entropy thing) in his story The Last Question. Quite a good read.
